In 2012 already with Jason Wu

Summer isn't quite over yet, but if you're already daydreaming of next year's, this latest runway collection from New York Fashion Week is definitely capable of making you feel brighter. This young designer's soft tailorings and vivid colors are an instant trip back to the seaside (a mind-trip at least!) and with his feminine touch and elegant yet not too pretentious style Jason Wu has captured the attention of many. 


L'estate non è ancora del tutto finita, ma se state già sognando la prossima, la collezione sfilata sulle passerelle della settimana della moda di New York solo qualche giorno fa è decisamente in grado di farvi(ci) sentire subito più luminose. Le linee morbide e i colori accesi di questo giovane stilista sono un immediato ritorno al mare (almeno col pensiero!), e con il suo tocco femminile ed elegante ma al tempo stesso non troppo pretenzioso Jason Wu ha catturato l'attenzione di molti.

Vogue Fashion's Night Out 2011

It's already over, but boy was it good! This year's Vfno was - needless to say - crowded and amazing. It was impossible to see everything, so here are some pictures of what my boyfriend and I went peeking in. And yes, he survived (:

E' già tutto finito ma è stato davvero splendido! La Vfno di quest'anno è stata - non ci sarebbe neanche bisogno di dirlo - affollata e incredibile. It's rain boots' season again!

Just when I was about to pull my hair out, big news: the coming a/w season is still full of rain boots! I was so disappointed because last year I didn't get a chance to a buy a pair (they were either way too expensive or just plain ugly), but now they're in my hands!

Proprio quando stavo per disperarmi, ecco una gran notizia: questa stagione autunno/inverno sarà ancora piena di stivali di gomma! I primi temporali sono quasi alle porte ed io ero piuttosto insoddisfatta perchè l'anno scorso non ho avuto modo di comprarne un paio (o erano troppo cari o erano semplicemente orribili), ma ora sono nelle mie mani!

Here they are, Liu Jo's new lace print rain boots. I couldn't help falling in love with them, especially as they liken last year Valentino's (which I really relished but - for obvious reasons - couldn't afford). 

Eccoli qui, i nuovi stivali da pioggia in pizzo stampato di Liu Jo. Non potevo non comprarli,  specialmente perchè l'idea è la stessa di un paio di stivali di Valentino dell'anno scorso (stivali di cui mi ero follemente innamorata ma che - per ovvie ragioni - non mi sono potuta permettere).

Liu Jo's are cheaper, yet they look just as cute! And they come in beige too. There's only one drawback, they sell like crazy!

Quelli di Liu Jo sono decisamente più economici ma ugualmente belli e sono disponibili anche in beige. Hanno solo un difetto, finiscono in fretta! Siamo solo a fine agosto e nel loro negozio principale a Milano il mio numero era già finito.

Last year I came across one of the most talented artists specialised in children illustrations and I immediately fell in love with her work. Well, it is simply impossible not to. With her delicate style and her candid characters, Mandy Sutcliffe won't fail to capture your heart. She creates everything from wall decals to cushions, and offers a wide selection of art prints to choose from. Belle, a sweet little girl, and Boo, her puffy tailed bunny, are Mandy's main inspiration, but they are not alone in their adventures! Many other lovely boys and girls are there to be discovered...

Much like her two main characters, Mandy is not alone either. The Belle & Boo team also comprises Kate, Tracy, Helena and Suzie. Their cooperation seems to be very successful, as they recently published the first of hopefully many more Belle & Boo's books to come. The title is "Bubbles Before Bed" and the story alternates with some crafty works. It is in fact a to-do book that children (and not only, I confess) will go crazy about.
